A punched circles background is easy to do and is a fabulous way to use up some scraps. Today’s card design has been inspired by the latest CASE Study Challenge, #197.
Elements that inspired my design…
- the circle background – mine is punched rather than stamped
- white background with a fun pop of color
- punched vellum overlay
Did you notice my use of flair? I told you it would be popping up again here! This typewriter flair is just so darn cute I wasn’t sure if I wanted to use it up or hoard it!
I’ve used the gorgeous new Fancy Pants Meology line. When I saw the colours I just knew it had to be mine. To create the punched circles background, all you need is a circle punch. While I love die-cutting, punches and especially circle punches are among the top time honoured paper crafting tools. I don’t think that they’ll ever be totally replaced as they are just so quick and easy to use.
Quick Tip: Laying out your punched circles evenly is essential for a professional look on this background. I love using one of my favorite tools for laying out the punched circles background and any other design that requires precision. I’ve been using the Basic Grey Magnetic Precision Mat Kit for years and I wouldn’t be without it!
