Where do you find your creative inspiration? If you just open your eyes, inspiration is everywhere! It may be in the people we create for, the product we create with, the world around us, a current trend, a piece of clothing, a style, a display or a magazine ad. There’s really no limit as to what we can be inspired by!
Today, along with some of the MFT Stamps designers, we’ve decided to turn to the literary world for inspiration. After all, art inspires more art and writing is definitely an art form! Each of us has picked a quote for inspiration and they’ve been turned into lovely graphics to share with you today. I hope mine inspires you not only to get creating but to be brave and dream of a goal you’d like to reach. Because… oh my darling, what if you fly?
I love this quote every time I see it! I first came across it on Pinterest which is of course, an inspiring place to visit. It encourages me to try new things, to take creative risks and to look for new ways to share my creativity with others. I’m not sure where my creative journey will take me but each day I get up excited about what I will create and how I can add a little more beauty to someone’s day.
This quote has inspired me to pull out one of my very favorite dies from MFT Stamps, the Feathers and Arrows Die-namics. I love both sizes of this gorgeous feather and they pair up wonderfully on a project but today I’ve repeated just the smaller feather dies cuts across a horizontal card design. The feathers have been die cut from patterned paper as well as Tickled Pink and Sno Cone Cardstock. I’m loving these gorgeous colors! You may have noticed that I can’t seem to put them down lately as they keep cropping up in my projects.
Design Note: Each feather has a debossed center strip making it super easy to fold in half. By gently folding the feather it adds dimension and textural interest to the design.
Take a peek at the background panel on this design. You might think it is patterned paper but look again because it is not! I loved creating this DIY dotted background using the Large Polka Dots Stencil from MFT. By sponging on the ink gently and fading it off as I worked from the center outwards, I created a beautiful and soft ethereal effect. It’s perfect to go with the thought of flying in the inspirational quote. I can never resist adding in some embellishments and this time it’s more buttons and sequins. Love them both! A little tied up twine and a trinket pin finish it all off.
Make sure you stop by the MFT Stamps blog today and all week for tons of amazing inspiration! Each day brings something new and wonderfully inspiring! And yes…there’s giveaways!
