I definitely can’t seem to get away from gold as I’m back with it again today! This card has a bit of an amusing story to go with it. It was inspired by the sweet mother of a friend of mine. Where she attends church she loves to sit by a window that she can see out of. Outside the window were two beautiful trees that stood side by side. She has a lovely imagination and always felt the trees were holding hands/branches so she called them Ruth and Boaz. I’m not sure if you know the Biblical account but it is a wonderful love story. When I started creating with the new Paper Smooches Trees Two dies, the two trees brought to mind this sweet elderly lady’s imagination and that’s how this card came about.
To create this design I first started with the background. To create it I tore a rough edge off some scrap cardstock to make a curved edge. This was used as a mask to sponge on the layers of ink to make the sky area and the grass layers. Simply by changing the portion of torn edge that you use, you can vary each layer so that it doesn’t look too repetitive.
Once the background was finished I stamped some leaves with the Distress Inks and then layered on my gold glitter die cut trees. Some tiny Maya Road flowers finish it off to look like spring.
