This week MFT Stamps presents Summer School Session 2. It’s all about learning elements of design and challenging you to learn, get creative and have a lot of fun…all at the same time! Summer School has NEVER been so fun! Are you ready to get started?
This week we’ve been focusing on color! Glorious beautiful color! Color is always such an important part of our lives and it’s a very big deal in design. Can you image the world without color?! I can’t. I’m always amazed at how much color can change my mood and how it tells a story.
Today the Summer School design topic is Monochromatic Color Schemes. We’ll be talking about exactly what a monochromatic color scheme is, how to implement it in your designs and different tricks to take monochromatic design from boring to fabulous. I’m excited to be teaching on the MFT Blog so be sure to stop by to watch the video tutorial, get learning and see how this card incorporates a monochromatic color scheme.
Today’s card uses a monochromatic color scheme as it uses shades of blue. I decided to try a gradient effect using Smooth White, Sno Cone & Blu Raspberry cardtstocks on the Pierced Oval Frames Die-namics. It may be a little hard to see it but if you look closely I’ve layered a vellum oval behind the oval frames, over a striped piece of patterned paper. The vellum is stamped with the new BG Star Celebration Background in Whip Cream Pigment Ink. I love the subtle detail this adds.
There’s also daily challenges for you to play along with and of course, super-fab prizes! Summer School Sessions 2 runs all week long so be sure to stop by MFT Stamps for the lesson. If you’re a little behind getting started, don’t worry! All entries must be submitted by noon EDT on July 24th. There’s still time!
Get crafting and enjoy homework like never before!
