Hello! Welcome to the Fall 2015 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop! I’ll be showcasing several of the new stamp sets and dies on my post today! I’m so excited about this stunning release. Gorgeous classics with an up-to-date look, they are sets you’ll keep coming back to. Julie Ebersole has designed all the beautiful sets releasing today and her fabulous unique style is seen in them all.
First up I’m sharing this card featuring the Mondo Poinsettia Stamp Set and Mondo Poinsettia Dies. I love how easy the coordinating die set makes stamping. No more fussy cutting and it’s super easy to create gorgeous layered designs. I love this poinsettia set and if it’s beautiful in one layer, I decided to get it extra dimension and “pow” by layering it for a double bloom.
The Mondo Poinsettia was die cut, then stamped and colored with Copic Markers. Full supply list can be found below. I found that by layering the beautiful leaves and blooms over black cardstock it really gave the design lots of beautiful contrast. It also allowed me to add some sweet flecks of “snow”. Did you know you can flick the Wink of Stella Glitter Brushes?! I’ve used the white one here. I was excited with how opaque the white one was and it added lots of beautiful dots of glittery white over the design.
Each of the layers is popped up with 3D foam adhesive squares for even more dimension. Glossy Accents makes a great addition to the center of each blossom.
The second design I have to share with you today features the Thankful Stamp Set and Thankful Die Set. What to say about this set…well, it’s gorgeous! Fabulous sentiment and beautiful fall images. It also has the same look as the Mistletoe and Holly set so if you get both, you can mix and match in so many ways.
For this card I decided to go with watercoloring instead of Copics for a different look. This set is “sketchier” and fits the medium so well. It always amazes me how pretty watercolor is on stamped images and how quickly it all goes together. I used Peerless Watercolors for this design and after trying quite a few different watercolor options, this is the one I choose over and over again. To create the watercolored background I decided to try using a plastic stencil. When you use a stencil with watercolors, the pigment tends to bleed under the plastic a little. If you’re going for a more abstract and less precise look, this can make a really interesting background. I used the Tim Holtz Bubble Stencil for this. Work quickly adding color to each area and remove the stencil quickly before color has time to wick over the paper.
I’m so excited that I also get to give this new stamp set, called Mondo Poinsettia to a lucky someone! Isn’t it gorgeous?! It’s absolutely amazing as a card, gift wrap, home decor or scrapbooking layout accent. Please leave a comment to enter my giveaway! Please leave a comment by August 11th.
