Eeek! These are just the cutest mice!!!
And I never thought I’d hear myself say those words. We live in an old farmhouse so mice and I, well, we are not the best of friends. But these darling little harvest mice from the Harvest Mouse stamp set? They are just too cute and I’m having an absolute blast creating with them. This card is for my mother-in-law and I just can’t wait to send it off.
This stamp set is from the September release at MFT and just in case you somehow missed all the hullabaloo, yes indeed, it is released and available for purchase. Honestly, if you order I’m not sure how you are going to choose. This month has so many crazy good stamps and dies!
These little mice are die cut from watercolor paper and then stamped in Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. This is an amazing ink and won’t run with watercoloring. The mice are watercolored using Peerless Transparent Watercolors.
To create the background I used the new English Brick Wall Stencil and sponged on some Grout Gray Ink. I love using just a portion of the stencil when sponging rather than going right to the edges of the layer. I feel like this adds a more interesting look and is a nice contrast to all the hard lines at the edge of the design. It’s the same concept that I taught a few weeks ago on hard vs. soft.
Are you ready to start crafting for fall? I’ve been doing a bit but I’m still hanging onto the last few days of summer with both fists.
