Hello, and welcome to the Holiday II Essentials by Ellen Release Hop! If you’re just joining the hop, this is a great place to start and you can keep hopping until you go in a full circle. If you’ve already joined in, you should be coming by way of the fabulous Carolyn Peeler. I’ll be showcasing several of the new stamp sets and dies on my post today! You’re going to adore this release so let’s get right to it!
First up I’m sharing this beautiful fall card with you. It’s created with the new Autumn Acorns die set. This set coordinates perfectly with the previously released (and stunning) Autumn Acorns Stamp Set. I love how easy the die set making using these stamps and all those beautiful leaves and acorns look positively delicious all layered up to form one beautiful accent. No more masking!!! Can you tell I’d MUCH rather die cut than mask?!
Each of the stamped images was stamped using the Avery Elle Pigment Inks. To get a variegated effect simply ink up the stamp in one color, then lightly tap another color of pigment ink around the edges or wherever it is that you want the color. Stamp and presto…a duo-tone image. I’ve linked up all the ink colors I used for you in the supply list at the end of this post. To add in some pretty gold dots, I placed little dots of Ranger Liquid Pearls. One little bottle goes a very long way. Once you’ve added your dots, just place your card flat and out of the way to allow it to dry well.
My second card features the brand new Poinsettia and Pine Dies set. Seriously these dies are sooo pretty that I simply left them alone. Yes, you can do all kind of techniques with them but don’t they look stunning in white? All I did was to die cut them from white cardstock a few times and then layer them together into a hanging bunch of greenery.
To create the background, I decided to have a little fun with Distress Inks. I’ve combined the Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks together onto Solar White Cardstock by sponging on the color until I got a lovely blended background. Then the fun part. Simply flick water over the background with a paintbrush and allow the water droplets to sit on the paper for about 20-30 seconds. The colors should bleed out and you will get lovely lighter colored water spot areas. Blot up excess water and ink with paper towel and allow to dry thoroughly.
The sentiment on this card is also from the new Essentials by Ellen release. The Santa’s Flight Stamp Set is absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to create a design with the rest of the stamp set!
