‘Tis the season to deck the halls and make everything merry and bright.
I love creating sweet altered projects with my paper crafting supplies. As much as I love cards and tags, and scrapbooking, I also adore 3D style projects. They are fun and unique and make great gifts!
Recently I put together a fun altered mason jar to add to my dining room sideboard this Christmas. It’s reminiscent of of a snowglobe and yes you can actually shake it and have it snow. But no…it’s not filled with liquid. Just air, but it does have a fun feature that snow globes don’t have.
My fun variation was to light up the mason jar with a tiny little LED tea light. It’s adhered to the top of the jar lid with a glue dot. This way it’s removable to turn it on and off but stays at the jar top when I need it to. Glue dots are amazing little pieces of adhesive with so many uses.
Inside my mason jar I’ve created a fun little scene with some faux snow (white Flower Soft) and some darling Maya Road embellishments. The bottle brush trees are my addiction this holiday season. I love the vintage look of the natural ones and you can dye them with fun fabulous colors of ink for a trendy look if you wish.
The top of the project is also embellished with Maya Road trims, a star bottlecap filled with glass glitter and a sweet little wood spool detail on the top.

Wishing you a beautiful Christmas!
