One of my favorite things about January is kicking the year off with fabulous new releases of creative product. As CHA, the Craft and Hobby Association Tradeshow is held in January, this means a fabulous crop of new products and goodies that has me giddy with all the wonderful possibilities. I have a huge wish list as always!
For me CHA also means it is time to create. It’s always a mad rush of lots of projects but it’s always a joy to be able to do it. This year I had a blast creating some show projects for Maya Road and I couldn’t be more excited about their new product line of dies. Yes! Maya Road is now producing dies! And they are fab! One of the new lines is an ATC die line. They are perfect for ATCs (of course), Project Life, Pocket Letters, card fronts and fun altered projects like this one.
To create it I used a frame that I had on hand and took out the glass and backing so I was left with a plain black frame. It’s painted multiple times with an eggshell color chalk paint for a nice fresh (and just a little bit shabby) look.
To create each hanging layer, I stapled some Maya Road twine across the back of the frame and then used some sweet tiny Maya Road Silver Clothespegs to clip on the altered ATCs.
As you may know, embellishing is REALLY my thing. Love it! Layer it on! It’s full of tons of new and old favorites from Maya Road. So much fun! I can’t wait until it ships back and I can hang it up in my craft room.
One of the fun things about this project is that you can switch it up. Change it for the seasons or as your tastes change. Hang up photos or memorabilia. Hey…even to do lists look cute on this frame!
You can also find this project here on the Maya Road Blog. Look for all the new dies and other releases at the end of February online and in your local scrapbook stores!
