I have to admit that now and then I get a little prickly. Today’s card is part of the MFT Stamps March Release Countdown and I just knew it would be perfect to give to my husband. The poor man has had to deal with me being sick with a cold virus for over six weeks now and I think some days he’s had to have the patience of Job. He’s picked up the slack around here and looked after me when I definitely haven’t been at my best. I think we all have prickly times and I’m so excited about this new Sweet Succulents Stamp Set and Dienamics Set from MFT Stamps.
It’s absolutely full of beautiful (and trendy!) cacti and succulents images that mix and match with pots. And don’t get me started on the sentiments! They are perfectly adorable and unique and a really neat way to say sorry among other things. I’ve stamped and die cut the cacti and pot images and then watercolored them in with Peerless Watercolors. I think that lately watercoloring has been my favorite way to color. I just love how the pigment flows onto the paper.
The sentiment from the Sweet Succulents Stamp Set is stamped in Black Licorice Hybrid ink onto a strip of vellum and then adhered.
To create the main panel of the design I’ve paired up an older (only slightly as it’s a recent release)set, Stitched Mini Scallop Oval STAX Die-namics, with the brand new Stitched Oval Scallop Frames Die-namics. They compliment each other perfectly and I love how they both have stitching and scallops which make them absolutely perfect for stacking! If you look closely you might notice that the center of the kraft layer is just a little lighter. I’ve sponged white pigment ink in the center and around the edges to add some extra detail.
Let’s not forget the background! It’s once again the largest layer of the Blueprints 27 Die-namics die cut from Factory Green Card Stock. I’ve stamped it with the Geometric Grid Background stamp which is also new for this release!
This brings us one day closer to the March MFT Stamps release! Just one more peek to go and then the big release goes live on Tuesday March 1st at 10 pm EST! Have you started a wish list yet? I’d love to know what’s on it!
Don’t forget there’s lots MORE inspiration on the MFT Stamps Blog! Why not take a peek?!
And by the way…happy leap year! I hope you find some time to spend it creatively!
