Today is all about a quick mixed media project, and a fab and fun Blog Hop featuring the Maya Road Design Team!
I’m so excited to be part of this team! There’s such and amazing mix of talent and styles! As we’ve never had a blog hop before, we thought it would be fun to put together some projects to share our love of Maya Road product. It’s absolutely amazing unique and high quality and there’s something for everyone! If you’re just starting the blog hop here on my blog, that’s fine! Just follow along and hop from blog to blog. If you’re already started the hop, you’ll be coming from being inspired by Melody Rupple! You can also start at the beginning on the Maya Road DT Blog.
There’s an amazing prize to go with this fun hop and you can check it out here!
For my project today, I thought I’d get a little bit messy with a fun mixed media project. It’s a hanging heart decor piece and it’s oh so shabby! It features a ton of Maya Road goodies and in fact, pretty much everything I used on this project comes from a brand new kit from Maya Road Kits. It’s called Vintage Beauty and it’s available for purchase tonight, Friday March 4th at 7 pm EST.
Besides the kit, I’ve used some mixed media products. A stencil, texture paste, ink and gesso. The background is created by laying a stencil over the patterned paper and then spreading the surface with texture paste. It’s a fun way to add dimension to a design. The gorgeous lace motifs are part of the kit and I’ve adhered them with liquid adhesive and then painted them with gesso.
To create my embellishment cluster, I just pulled out some of the beauty embellishments from the kit. I love how easy it is to use a kit. Everything is designed to mix and match and that REALLY speeds up the design process. Like HUGE!
And that’s my project! I have a quick video tip to share with you as well. Check it out!
Winner for the giveaway will be chosen randomly from all the comments on all the blogs in the hop. You have until 9 am EST Tuesday March 8th to leave comments. Winner will be announced on the Maya Road Design Team Blog Thursday March 10th. Please leave only one comment per blog.
