I’m so thankful for creative friends! I’ve “met” many wonderful friends on-line and now and then, I actually get to meet them in person!
It was only a few weeks ago that Marcie Sharp and I had a wonderful on-line creative blog challenge together. And it was so fun I not only said let’s do this again, but let’s do it again SOON! As in set the date soon.
So here we are with another fun challenge and a beautiful inspiration piece that Marci found for us. You can find Marcie’s gorgeous projects at Sharp Designs.
Does this not make you think of spring and summer and beautiful things and fun! In fact, this image very much reminds me of Marcie. Bright, beautiful, creative and fun. And there’s so many possibilities! Just look at the fun style of those flowers! It’s a vertical image so I’ve just included a thumbnail but feel free to click on the image to enlarge it. And feel free to be inspired to create something lovely as well!
To create my card I was inspired by the big bright florals and the color scheme. I didn’t have any stamps that seemed to work with this so I took it a little different direction and combined some die-cutting with some gorgeous embellishments. The background is die cut using the Taylored Expressions Bold Lace Cutting Plate. I love full card front size dies but sometimes it’s good to change things up a bit and so I’ve die cut about 1/3 of the design off the bottom and replaced it with solid white card stock. This makes a great place to add the beautiful script die-cut sentiment. I’m loving gray these days and this Many Thanks die is from Ellen Hutson LLC.
Most of the gorgeous embellishments come from Maya Road although I have put in a sweet little flair piece that I think may have been from Crate Paper. I’m loving all the new goodies and the Tulle Mini Blooms come in beautiful colors to choose from. Also new from Maya Road are the Paper Flowers and the sweet tassels.
Let’s take a look at the color combo. I tried to match up my colors as close as I possibly could with colors picked directly from the inspiration sample. It’s bright and fun and I love the addition of the grey to cool things down a little. Feel free to Pin this color combo for future reference and inspiration.
And one last design note… did you notice that the edges of the main panel are “stitched” by die-cut? You can place ANY 4″x5.25″ Cover-Up or Cutting Plate die-cut into the large stitched rectangle from MFT Stamps Blueprints 13 and die cut it again to get this great fabulous detail!
Make sure you stop over to Sharp Designs to see what Marcie has been up to and to say hello! I know it’s going to be fab!
Thanks so much Marcie for the amazing challenge! I can’t wait to do another!
