It’s Release Replay time! I’m back with another card using some goodies from the fabulous May MFT Stamp’s Release. I always love this challenge as it’s a great way to design with some of the product that I didn’t find the time to create with for the release. Today I’m pairing up lots of fab releases including stamps, Die-namics and stencils for a sweet card.
To start off this card I first pulled out the new One Way Chevron Stencil. I love this stencil as it has amazing visual movement to it. One way to really add interest to a stencil is to use it twice. To create the background panel I’ve first sponged it in Sno Cone Dye Ink and then moved it slightly down and sponged it again with Sour Apple Dye ink. I love the blended ink color this achieves in the middle of each stenciled area.
So let’s talk dies. The stencil was then die-cut with the large stitched rectangle from Blueprints 20. I’ve also pulled out the new Inside & Out Stitched Stars Die-namics and die cut a sweet star accent. This die set really shines when die-cutting negative star shapes and what a great spin on a classic die.
One of the other dies I’ve used is the cloud from the End of the Rainbow Die-namics. It makes a fab accent as also a great place to stamp on a portion of my sentiment. I’m loving splitting up my sentiments into sections lately and for this design, I’ve used 1. a stamp on a cloud, 2. a “because” die-cut and then 3. I’ve finished it off with a stamped section on the background.
While I’m still talking dies, the because die is from the Because You stamp and die set. It’s a duo! You’ll find a stamp from the stamp portion of the set at the end of the card phrase, “you’re amazing.” The first section of the sentiment, Believe in yourself, comes from the Rainbow Greetings stamp set.
Quick Tip: Don’t be afraid to mix and match dies with stamps, and different sentiment stamps together. It’s a great way to create original designs and get more from your crafting supplies!
