Introducing…Flashy Florals from MFT Stamps! It’s a stunning new set and it’s part of an absolutely stunning card kit that is available this May. In fact, mark it down on your calendars as the release is tomorrow night… Tuesday May 17th at 10 pm EST. You really don’t want to miss it and once it’s sold out, well, that’s it!
So let’s talk Flashy Florals. The stamp set and die-namics are soooo pretty! I could not wait to ink them up and they are going to be a much loved (and used) set in my collection. Bright, fun and tropical blossoms. Today’s card is In the Box, which means I’ve used the kit cardstocks, dies, inks and stamps with very little else. In fact all I’ve really used that’s extra is a basic rectangle die (which you could even skip and just cut on the paper trimmer) and some foam adhesive.
While I’m In the Box with supplies, I’ve gone a little “out of the box” with my layout. This is a super easy way to make a unique card. It also allows you to add flowers and foliage that pop over the edges and still fit into a regular A5 envelope.
The trick is to create a 4.25″ square card base that has the fold along the top. Then add on top of it a rectangle that you’ve die cut or simply trimmed to size with some adhesive. To add some pop for this card I’ve first die cut the sentiment into the panel, then adhered it with foam adhesive strips. The extra depth to the die cut area gives you better shadows so that you can see the word even if it’s tone on tone.
Here’s a little card sketch in case it helps you see it visually. Please feel free to Pin this as well for future reference.
And finally, let’s get back to Flashy Florals…the stamps are a dream to layer and stamp. I love all the sweet details and this card uses inks that come as little ink pad cubes in the kit. Isn’t the color combo fab? So rich and warm and fun! It actually pushed me out of my comfort zone and got me trying a few new-to-me ink colors that I now love and will definitely be using again. Just look at all those gorgeous purples!
Check out the design team peeks, the kit contents and lots of fabulous inspiration on the MFT blog! There’s so much to see!
I’ll be back tomorrow night with another Flashy Florals design for the release. Next time I’ll be going “out of the box”. Until then…
Keep it creative!
