Hello! It’s almost been a week since my last blog post which is a very long time for me. Life, and computer woes have gotten in the way. I’m back on-line with a temporary solution as I get a new hard drive and enjoy all the fun that goes along with it. It always takes hours and hours to reinstall programs and set things up to give me the best work flow.
I did however manage to get this sketch challenge card created for today’s MFT Sketch Challenge. This card is all about die-cutting.
This week’s MFT Stamps sketch is #MFTWSC28. It’s all about symmetry, an oval focal point and has a myriad of possibilities. Join in the challenge for some creative time! I can’t wait to see how everyone interprets this sketch. You can find all the details here on the MFT Challenge Blog.
To create this card, I was inspired by the sketch and it’s oval area. Instead of layering up, I turned the oval shape into a window that gives a better peek at the beautiful die-cut background. It’s the Brick Wall Cover Up Die-namics and I’ve left some of the bricks in place and adhered them down for more texture and interest. Grout Gray is one of my favorite card stock colors right now and I just adore its subtle look. I’ve die cut it from the largest rectangle in the Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX and then die cut the window using the Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX.
Quick Tip: Hold the oval die in place to perfectly line up your window section while die-cutting. I love to use washi tape for this as it is so easy to peel off once cut.
All supplies for this project are listed below for your convenience. I hope you find some time to get sketchy! There’s always a chance to win something fab! Don’t forget, details and inspiration are here on the MFT Challenge Blog.
