Pallet art goes mini and I’m so excited to create with these super sweet wood pallets from Maya Road. If you’ve been on Pinterest you may have noticed just how popular pallet art and pallet furniture is. The humble pallet has been transformed into something new and lovely. Well take all that awesomeness and shrink it down a little and you get something super cute.
This mini wood pallet is 4 inches square but there is also a 6 inch square one as well. A little variety for whatever suits you best. I’ve altered this little wood pallet into a little gift decor piece.
Treat the wood just like a canvas. You can paint it, stencil it, use mixed media product on it, photos, ephemera or whatever makes your creative self happy.
I’ve taken my pallet and first painted it with some mint green glitter paint. The paint is translucent so it allows bits of the wood texture and wood grain to show through. Once the paint was dry I wanted to add some texture and interest so I spread some texture paste on through a pretty stencil.
And now to add in the beautiful embellishments. They are all also from Maya Road and are a mix of tassles, wood tokens, flowers, leaves and charms. So pretty! It’s just like a beautiful bouquet of goodies that will never wilt. To finish it all off, I used my label maker to create the JOY sentiment. After all, I got so much creative joy from making this project that it just seemed like the perfect word to sum it all up.
This project can also be found on the Maya Road blog along with all the supply list and product links. Pop by, check it out and while you’re there, take a look around. The Maya Road Design Team is absolutely amazing!
