I love soft and pretty cards. Mix vellum with pastels and lots of white and I’m a happy girl. Today I’m sharing another look at some of the upcoming releases from MFT Stamps and their August Release. It’s Day 4 so we are still just getting started with all the new product peeks so if you love creative inspiration and seeing what’s new, stop by each day and see what’s going on.
This card features the new Stitched Triple Peek-a-Boo Windows. You can break this die apart for more flexibility but I love it as is, with those darling stitched windows. It adds a fun peek-a-boo element to the design and when paired up with vellum, I love how it adds a spotlighting technique effect. Where the vellum is, you get a subtle hint at what is underneath and where the windows are, it really highlights the design. The vellum is just an overlay that I’ve placed over the card front and adhered on the back. It’s stamped with the Lots of Dots Background in Whip Cream Pigment Ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
To create the pattern, I’ve stamped the Smooth White Card Stock card front with the new Triple Stripe Background in Sno Cone Dye Ink. I love how a background stamp can tie a random pattern together. To create the floral pattern I’ve stamped leaves and flowers from the Modern Blooms Stamp Set. While it’s not new, I adore it and how it makes such a pretty card.
Finally, one of the spotlight windows is the perfect place to stamp a sentiment. “Yay, You!” is yet another sentiment from the new Essential Sentiments Stamp Set. I said it yesterday but I’ll say it again…the sentiments are fab and a MUST-HAVE in my humble opinion.
Quick Tip: Spotlighting is easy using vellum and dies to form a window element. These holes give you a better look at the pattern beneath!
