Oh how I love to create with stencils. There are just so many amazing things you can do with them.
Check out the new Chevron Grid Stencil. It part of the upcoming MFT Stamps September Release that is going to have you inspired to create.
I tried out an idea I’ve had bouncing around my brain lately. First of all, it’s color that’s sponged onto watercolor paper. I’ve actually never tried it before as I usually use a white card stock and I was thrilled with how easily the color went on. I’m using dye inks here. They are my go-to inks and I love how they react with water. Once the color was sponged onto the top portion of the watercolor paper, I removed the stencil and added some water to the edges. I love how it makes a subtle watery finish. By using watercolor paper, the color moves so beautifully. Water is also flicked off of my clean paint brush over the stenciled area to add additional interest to the design.
The sentiment is a peek at a new sentiment stamp set, Twice the Wishes with this release. You may have seen it before as part of a recent card kit and now it’s available separately! The colors on this design just scream happy to me and that’s why I chose this sentiment to go with it. To finish it up, sweet little clear droplets add in the look of water and really highlight some of the colors in the design.
