September is s sweet month between summer and fall and I love each beautiful moment. Today i have a sweet card to share. Even the sentiment is sweet. It’s part of the latest release from Ellen Hutson LLC and I’ve been dying to use it.
I have more share about this card but first let’s talk about something else super sweet. Ellen is having a super stamp sale on right now! 20% off all in store stamps! Cling rubber, clear, singles or sets… They are ALL on sale!
Here’s just a peek at what is in stock. There’s been so many fab new releases lately from so many unique companies that have made their way into my shopping cart or my wish list that I thought I’d share a few of them here. So many stamps…so little time!
Which brings us back to today’s project. Stay Golden is so fun and tropical and yes, so sweet that I just can’t resist it. Next time I use it I’m going to incorporate another of the darling sentiments and some of the fabulous tropical flowers. When you live in Canada, you grasp any opportunity to get away and enjoy some warmer weather.
For this design I’ve kept it simple by repeating the solid pinapple stamp over and over in a pattern. I find that stamping on a diagonal instead of a square grid works best for most images and you don’t need to be as intensely precise. Each of the solid images was inked up with four different pigment inks before stamping. I love how pigment inks work on solid stamps and they blend beautifully. I like to start with the lightest color to prevent staining my ink pads and working from there. Avery Elle makes wonderful pigment inks and I’m growing my collection as I can. For this design I’ve used Lemon Grass, Mimosa, Celery and Fizz. The sentiment is stamped in my favorite black ink… Jet Black Archival. (It’s linked and highlighted since I forgot to list it below.) To finish it all off I adhered some pretty yellow enamel dots to add some embellishing and really highlight the fun sentiment.
Have a sweet day!
