Let’s mix it up!
Paper crafting is all about paper but it doesn’t have to be about one particular kind! Mix it up with different textures and papers and even some other materials as well. Like felt. And cork. And acetate. Let all those fabulous textures shine!
Today’s card design is based on a sketch challenge but it’s also all about mixing and matching to give a unique look.

Like sketches? Be sure to check out this week’s MFT Stamps sketch, #MFTWSC319. Today’s sketch is fun, assymetrical and has so many possibilities. Perfect for stamps, die-cuts or many different techniques! I hope you’ll join in the challenge for some creative time! You can find all the details here on the MFT Challenge Blog. If you’ve never played along, it’s super fun and easy. I hope you’ll join us!
For this design, I’ve combined all the different textures together in the form of die-cuts. The design is simple to focus on all these wonderful textures. The sentiment from LJD Whimsical Greetings is stamped onto the cork and then heat set with a heat gun. I really like to heat set inks on unique surfaces just to be sure they stay put. The gorgeous bird cage die cut is from the Cheerful Cages Die-namics and makes a beautiful focal point or layering piece. It is so beautiful and delicate and looks absolutely stunning in gold foil card stock!
Quick Tip: Mix and match die cut textures. There’s no reason to only use paper!
You can find all the supplies used listed and linked below for your convenience. I hope you find some time to get sketchy! There’s always a chance to win something fab!
