It’s past Valentine’s Day. Should I put my hearts away?
I think NOT! Love never goes out of style. I’d be pretty blue if I could only celebrate it in February.
And while hearts are perfect for Valentines…they are also perfect for sharing your love when someone is going through a hard time. Which is what today’s card is all about. Love and encouragement.
It’s also about a new sketch challenge! Like sketches? Be sure to check out this week’s MFT Stamps sketch, #MFTWSC321. Today’s sketch is fun, assymetrical and has so many possibilities. Perfect for stamps, die-cuts or many different techniques! I hope you’ll join in the challenge for some creative time! You can find all the details here on the MFT Challenge Blog. If you’ve never played along, it’s super fun and easy. I hope you’ll join us!
I stayed very very close to the original sketch design with this one! The circular space makes a wonderful focal point area for my heart and sentiment. The heart is die-cut in Kraft using the Heart STAX Die-namics and stamped with a sweet sentiment from the Deepest Sympathy Stamp Set. It’s simply a gorgeous set that says all those things you want to say but have a hard time saying them. I’ve layered it over some Puffy Clouds Die-namics and it’s all held together with a circle frame I die-cut using the Stitched Circle Scallop Frames Die-namics. Just adhere the vellum to the back of the circle, then adhere to the card. Everything that hangs off the edge is then simply cut off with a paper trimmer.
Quick Tip: Add a layer of vellum to tone down the background in the focal point area. You’ll still see the fabulous pattern but it won’t take away from
All those fun backgrounds are mixed and matched from stamps and patterned paper. The bottom prints come from the Birthday Blowout Paper Pack and the Tiny Check Brights Paper Pack. The top area of the card was stamped in black ink with the Lined Up Dots Background Stamp as the very first step of the design. Don’t you LOVE this background?!
You can find all the supplies used listed and linked below for your convenience. I hope you find some time to get sketchy! There’s always a chance to win something fab!
Until next time…
