Colored pencils have got to be one of the easiest and most portable coloring methods. I’ve loved coloring with them since I was a child but the techniques don’t have to be old and boring.
One of the ways I like to change things up a little is to stamp and color on a medium toned card stock. Kraft is perfect for this and I love the natural look of those flecks in the Kraft. It’s a perfect pairing for this sweet little deer from the latest Ellen Hutson LLC release! The medium tone also let’s you add in lights as well as darks when you are coloring and I just love how well the kraft card stock really picks up the color.
I’ve created this card design to share in the CLASSroom with lots of step outs, tips and a tutorial. I hope you’ll join me! You’ll find it all here.
Quick Tip: Don’t use a super smooth card stock with colored pencils. It’s a little too smooth to grab the pigment.
If you haven’t seen the entire release yet, be sure to check it out! The sets are so fun and fab!
