I love cards. Any kind of card. But I really LOVE cards that have that extra bit of something unexpected. Like an interactive element.
Today I’m excited to share an interactive card design for the Creative Construction with Blueprints challenge. It’s my very favorite challenge I design for each month…probably because I love the Blueprints Die-namics line of dies so much! The main die-set I’m using is Blueprints 28 Die-namics as I just adore this flap front card design. It’s so awesome and there’s so many things to do with it!
I’ve embellished the front of the card panel with lots of gorgeous florals. I really love the Fall Florals stamp set and Fall Florals Die-namics and wanted to give them a spring makeover. Aren’t they gorgeous in pastels?! It just goes to show you how versatile this floral set is. Repeat after me… USE FALL FLORALS ALL YEAR LONG!
And can I just say how much I’m totally crushing on this sweet purple hue?! It’s called Grapesicle and is gorgeous in both the card stock and the ink. I’ve been off purple for awhile (think years) but this color has me falling hard!
Now you’re probably wondering about the interactive bit to this card. It’s that front flap that lifts up for a surprise. And what could be better in there than a gift card?! Especially if it is to a favorite store. I didn’t have a gift card on hand but I placed a die-cut gift card substitute in the little tabs. It’s the same size as a gift card so you could totally put in the gift card with a sweet little paper layer on top to make it special. I’ve used the gift card sized die from Blueprints 30 Die-namics for this and die-cut it from a sweet print from the Sweet Celebration Paper Pack. The tabs were die-cut with the Gift Card Grooves Die-namics into a Sno Cone Card Stock layer that I adhered to the card front BEFORE adhering the Grapesicle flap layer.
Lastly…one thing to note about using this fab flap die from the Blueprints 29 Die-namics… Make sure you keep anything you add to the flap BELOW the score/fold line. It needs to be clear so that you can open that flap!
Quick Tip: Gift cards don’t have to be boring! Show how much you care with some extra special details on your card that holds it.
