Nom nom. Who DOESN’T love Chinese takeout?! I know I do!
Near our house we have an Asian Restaurant called Wok Box that we absolutely adore. Unfortunately my pancreas doesn’t allow me to eat much of it any longer but a girl can dream right?!
It’s Day Four of the March release countdown at MFT Stamps and today’s peeks are so much fun! Don’t you LOVE that little fortune cookie? You can even make the card interactive and have it pull right out of the design. It’s part of the Chinese Takeout Die-namics Set and the images and fortune (there’s a ton of them in the stamp set!) is from the Good Fortune Stamp Set.
I’ve gone with a fun and bright color combo for this card. I always think red when I think Chinese art etc. so I used Red Hot card stock and layered it over a Razzleberry card stock card base. There’s a fab new stencil included in the March release and I’ve used it to create the radiant colorful background. I started off at the center of the stencil and worked out blending the colors from Sunshine, to Orange Fizz, to Red Hot, and finally to Razzleberry...all in dye inks.
Finally, to create a great focal point area that doesn’t take away from the background, I die-cut a vellum circle using the Zig Zag Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. Adhere that vellum in an inconspicuous place behind where you be be adding the takeout layers.
Quick Tip: Place some removable adhesive on the back of your stencil to keep it from shifting while blending inks.
Stop by the MFT Stamps Blog for TONS of inspiration! Seriously stunning and there’s almost certainly a giveaway to be won! Good luck and stop by tomorrow. I’ll be back with yet another sneak peek.
