It’s a banner day! Banners always seem to be associated with special occasions and celebrations. I love using them for birthday designs but of course they can totally be used to celebrate the ordinary as well.
I can’t believe it’s already Day 2 of the MFT Stamps March countdown. It always goes by so quickly and that’s a good thing because it means you can get new paper crafting supplies so much quicker. Today’s card is white die-cut banners and flowers on top of a fun watercolor background. The Party Banners Die-namics is a new March release and it has two banners, one sized for a horizontal card and the other for a vertical card. Or you can do as I did and mix them up. Just trim the edges away that hang over.
The sweet little white card stock flowers are created using the Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics and adhered over the party banners. To create the background I first added in a water wash over the area I wanted to add in color. I started at the left hand side and added in the bright pink and allowed it to run down the watercolor paper. Then I added in the orange and finally the yellow. Once the background was finally dried, I stamped the Oh Happy Day sentiment in black ink. It’s from the new Critter Clan stamp set which is totally adorable!
Quick Tip: White die-cuts really pop over a watercolor background!
