What’s up? The MFT Release Countdown is up.
It’s Day Four of the countdown and today I’m having fun with watercolor and some darling hot air balloons! They are from the new Up in the Air stamp set by Birdie Brown and they are so darling! I look forward to the arrival of hot air balloons every spring. When the wind is right they fly over our house and we all run out to watch. I’m not the adventurous type but I enjoy them very much from the ground.
I decided to try out a little something new for me. The no line watercoloring technique. It’s all about stamping in a very light ink and then watercoloring. It looks like it’s been painted more freestyle than stamped! The Natural Hybrid ink works great for this. Just enough pigment to see it when when watercoloring but once you add that color…the lines really disappear! I’ve used a mix of Zig Clean Color Markers and Peerless Watercolors for this design. You can find the entire supply list below.
Quick Tip: Don’t forget to heat set your hybrid ink before watercoloring!
Stop by the MFT Stamps Blog for TONS of inspiration! Seriously stunning and there’s almost certainly a giveaway to be won! Good luck and follow along tomorrow…the countdown continues!
