Often we rip open an envelope, but ripping a card? What’s with that?!
It’s interactive, that’s what…and it’s easy and fun to do with a brand new Die-namics set from MFT Stamps! I’ll be telling you all about it but first…
It’s Day 1…the final countdown! Today is release night for the May 2017 Product Launch from MFT Stamps. I can’t wait…how about you? The next post you see for me will signal the launch and you can start shopping.
Today I’m featuring a fun of the new stamp and die sets on this design and let’s start with the focal point of those big, bright blooms. These sets are the Doodled Blooms and Doodled Blooms Die-namics and they are fun and funky to color. I’ve used some Copic Markers to really make them pop in some bright ’70s colors. They seriously remind me of the wallpaper my mom had in the main bath when I was growing up. Yes…I know. I’m getting old as that really dates me. They are all arranged and layered together over the not-new-but-fab Stitched Fishtail Frames Die-namics. You might notice my very funky leaves that I’ve die-cut from patterned paper packs. They are from the Shaker Flower Die-namics set that I gave you a peek at yesterday. It just goes to show how you can really mix things up!
Now let’s finally get to that interactive element. Check out what the new Essential Sentiment Rip Strips Die-namics! This set is free with a $60 purchase. How cool is that?!
To put it together…
- I first die-cut the rip strips onto some patterned paper.
- Then I lined it up over the card base in my Misti and placed the sentiment directly over the rip area.
- Closed the Misti to adhere the stamp.
- Opened the Misti to remove the patterned paper (leaving the card base in place) and inked up the stamp.
- Pressed the Misti cover down onto the card base to leave the sentiment impression exactly where it should be.
- Adhered the patterned paper well along the edges and edges of the rip area, then adhered the layer to the card.
I guarantee it’s MUCH easier than it sounds. The hardest part will be not ripping that strip open before you send it off in the mail!
One more thing…the background! I love background stamps and the Mermaid Tail Background is a fun pattern that is perfect for water themed designs. I also like to turn it upside down for a fun whimsical cloud look.
Finally… I had a bit of fun with my photoshop skills and put together this cute little gif file that shows the card before and after the rip. Let me tell you I made sure to take LOTS of photos before I ripped that panel! Once it’s open there’s no going back!
Quick Tip: Pink leaves? Why not?! Unique colored leaves add to the fun whimsical look of these Doodled Blooms!
