It’s sketch challenge time! A sketch is the perfect way to create a quick card and is often a jumping off place for me to start my design. Today I’m sharing a quick and sweet card to cheer someone up. We’ve been having SO much rain lately that I really need a sunshiney umbrella to chase the blues away.
If you love to create from sketches, be sure to check out this week’s MFT Stamps sketch, #MFTWSC331. Today’s sketch is a fun off-set design that can easily be vertical or rotated into a horizontal design. I’ve kept it fairly close to the original and had fun with a simple design. I hope you’ll join in the challenge for some creative time! You can find all the details here on the MFT Challenge Blog. If you’ve never played along, it’s super fun and easy. I hope you’ll join us!
I’ve pulled out the Layered Umbrella Die-namics from MFT Stamps to create this sweet patterned umbrella. I love it in the cute little print and can’t wait to try out different fun combos on this die. I also wanted to create a fun embossed background with the Lots of Dots Background and some clear embossing powder. I stamped and embossed the entire panel and then sponged the top with Sno Cone Dye Ink to really highlight the rain at the top. I wish I could have caught the shine on the embossing better in the images as it really adds a lovely dimension to the design.
You can find all the supplies used listed and linked below for your convenience. I hope you find some time to get sketchy! There’s always a chance to win something fab!
Until next time…
