It’s blog hop day and I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Pinkfresh Studio blog hop with their fabulous new release! It’s jaw-dropping. Seriously!!! It was so hard to decided what to design with but don’t worry…I have lots more ideas that I hope to share as time permits.
This is going to be a great blog hop with tons of inspiration, tips and of course…there’s some very awesome prizes to go along with it! I can’t wait to share so let’s get to it…
I have three designs to share with you today and I’m focusing on some of the super stunning die-cuts that are part of this release. I’ve used them in three different ways from simple, to inlaid, to a very very cool stamp and die combo that is the epitome of stamping coolness!
First up is the Bright Side of Life Die that gives you an image and a sentiment all in one. It’s so lacy and beautiful that it really does not need any technique or embellishing. I’ve simply laid it over a vellum overlay that was stitched to a card stock panel of pink and grey.
Quick Tip: Die-cut the die twice and fussy cut a few of the flower and foliage elements from the design to add on as embellishments.
Next up is a similarly gorgeous die called Now is the Time. The sentiment says “forever is composed of nows” and reminds us to make each moment count. I love the beautiful detailed heart shape and I’ve used an inlaid die-cutting technique. Simply die-cut the shape and save both the image and the negative space around it. The negative shape is adhered first to a backing layer. You can use patterned paper or a solid color of card stock, but for this design I’ve adhered it to an inked background that I’ve created by brushing on some Spun Sugar and Dried Marigold Distress Inks. Once the outer panel is adhered, then carefully apply dots of liquid adhesive to the back of the intricate die shape and place into the focal part of the design.
I love how sweet and elegant this looks. With such a stunning die, why hide it under a lot of details…just let it simply shine!
And now for the coolest die and stamp idea that I have ever seen! It’s the new Let’s Celebrate duo I just adore this idea that you stamp the images onto a die shape with a window. I’m not even able to explain it well but seriously I’m loving it!
Check the the die and stamp sets above and I think you’ll be able to see more of what I mean! How cool is that die that you stamp on the balloons and cake and then there is a window to stamp the streamers etc. behind it! And there’s MORE stamp and die combos in this release that use the same brilliant format… Forest Friends and Say it With Florals are absolutely amazing as well!
I’ve made this fun card into a shaker card just by adhering a piece of acetate to the back of the window die-cut layer. (Make sure you stamp and watercolor it all first though.) Then apply strips of foam tape around the edges of the panel and fill the center with sequins. Adhere this to the watercolor background layer to enclose the sequins and then you can glue the entire thing to your card front. I’m totally loving this card and can’t wait to give it away to my very, very patient friend. Her birthday was a couple weeks ago and while my life has been a bit of a challenge lately, there hasn’t been a day go by that it hasn’t been on my mind.
Quick Tip: You’ll want to use a Misti or other stamping tool with this die set. It can be tricky to line up the shapes just right the end result is SO worth it!
