There are just so many things you can do with stamps and dies that I’m always able to think up a myriad of different ways to use them! Today I have a sweet and fun window card that uses the sentiment as the window into the inside of the card design. It’s a fun and easy trick that anyone can do and I’m using some great new dies from MFT Stamps to show you how it’s done.
It’s also the Day 5 Countdown Kickoff for the June release and there’s lots of wonderful new goodies in store. Today I’m using the Big Thanks Die-namics set which was a previous free with $60 purchase die. I love how big and bold it is and it makes a fun window in the front of the card by simply die-cutting it into the white card base. Before I did this though, I adhered a strip of Sour Apple Card Stock along the bottom of the card. This die WILL cut out two layers and by laying it over the seam, it really adds to the design of the card.
There’s also a sweet layer of white clouds with some sweet stitching details on the front of the card. It’s the new Stitched Clouds Die-namics and this set has stitching on the inner and outer sides of the cloud cut lines so if you die-cut out a window layer, you still get some beautiful stitching.
You’ll also notice that the inside of the card is stamped and you get a lovely peek at it through the front sentiment window. I’ve taken the flowers from the new Fairy Happy stamp set and stamped them in Black Hybrid Ink before coloring them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
Here’s what it looks like opened up. There’s still lots of room to add a message and it really adds a special touch to both the inside and the outside of this card.
Quick Tip: Make sure you open out the card base when die-cutting your window. You don’t want to cut through the back panel as well! It can happen!
