Hello Gorgeous! It’s the perfect sentiment for this stamp set and the perfect time to kick off the August MFT Stamps Release Countdown! It’s that time of the month again and I’m excited to be counting it down with you again with some super-fab new stamps from MFT! The fun and oh so tropical set that I’m featuring today is called Flamazing and its coordinating die set, Flamzing Die-namics. Just so you know, I’ll be linking both new and current MFT product. The new and upcoming sets will be released next Tuesday night at 9 pm EST and the links will work for you then for those products. I know it’s hard to wait, but keep stopping by in the meantime to check out lots of inspiration for this upcoming release!
I usually stamp on Smooth White Card Stock but for this card I’ve done something a little different. The main focal point stamped panel is actually Watercolor Paper and it really gives a different look than stamping on smooth white. How is it different? The paper is a little heavier and softer in the sense that you still get really great stamped images but they are slightly less crisp as the ink soaks into the paper. For a blended or watery scene like this, I’m loving the look! I’ve used Claritystamps brushes to brush on the inked background AFTER I’ve stamped the scene. You can see the slight texture of the paper (I used the smoothest side of the watercolor paper BTW) and it’s a nice look. The watercolor paper also takes water droplets really well. The stamping and blended inks have been flicked with water from a brush. I let the water soak in for about 10 second and then blot off with a paper towel.
To create the sentiment, I used a stamp from the Flamazing set and stamped it onto another new release, the Essential Speech Bubbles Die-namics. Heads up…I’m loving this die set so much you’re going to see it used a LOT in this release! I LOVE small sentiments and put the strips together with speech bubbles…well, I’m pretty happy about that.
Here’s a list of the dye inks I’ve used on this project: Sno Cone, Summer Splash, Spearming, Sour Apple, Cotton Candy, Coral Crush, Banana Split, Latte, Biscotti
Quick Tip: Stamp on watercolor paper for a different look!
And finally…I’ve worked in a couple of my long-time faves into this design. The Stitched Traditional Tags STAX makes a great place to hold lots of stamping or focal point bits and pieces. The other is Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frames Die-namics and is a lovely subtle way to frame this card in white.
