Take me away! Today I’m dreaming of pink sunsets and silver sand beaches with this lovely shaker card design. I’m actually tickled pink with how this card turned out as when I started I had absolutely no idea in what direction I wanted to go with it. It all started with a gorgeous new background stamp called Make Your Mark Background. I love background stamps and this one is a beautiful pattern that will really work well in any design. Totally neutral but still lots of fun with all those vertical line marks. I was feeling in the mood for pink and so I stamped it with Tickled Pink Dye Ink and loved how it look. Spying the new Rectangle Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics, I decided a sweet little shaker would make a great focal point and the card evolved from there!
The shaker window was so much fun to create. I wasn’t sure what to put in it until I decided a sweet little sunset with some shaker “sand” would be absolutely fun and totally up my alley. The new die set works perfectly with the Rectangle Shaker Pouches which I’ve filled with silver vintage glass glitter and some tiny clean sequins. To create the scene, I once again pulled out the new Flamazing stamp set and created a tiny beach sunset using the water lines and palm tree stamps. It was more than a little tricky getting the photos without glare as I have an overhead skylight where I shoot my projects but hopefully you can get a look at the shaker area.
Dye Inks Used: Sno Cone, Summer Splash, Banana Split, Cotton Candy, Pink Lemonade, Latte, Sour Apple
Card Stock Used: Smooth White, Pink Lemonade, Sour Apple
The sentiment also comes from the Flamazing stamp set and is stamped in Black Hybrid Ink onto a die-cut cut using the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips. The stitching details on this tie in perfectly with some other stitching dies I’ve used in this design from Blueprints 13 Die-namics and Stitched Rectangle Scalloped Frames.
Quick Tip: Using clear shaker pouches is the quickest and easiest way ever for creating shaker cards. I love how they come in lots of unique shapes and sizes now!
Lastly check out those lovely little foliage die cuts at the top of the design. They are cut with a fun new die set called Fab Foliage and they make great accents!
