Creative Construction with Blueprints time! This feature is one of my favorites each month as Blueprints Dic-namics are so wonderful to create with. August’s challenge is to use one (or more) of these die sets to create a peekaboo or highlight detail. A little look at what’s to come is always an intriguing design feature and I love how this design pairs up the peekaboo feature with a front flap detail.
This month I’m focusing on Blueprints 30 Die-namics and it’s such a wonderful die set. The front flap detail is so unique and perfect for so many things. I love interactive cards and this set makes it oh so easy! To create the peekaboo detail I first die-cut the large front panel with the flap from Grapesicle Card Stock and then die-cut it again using that sweet little stitched circle die. This circle detail forms the peekaboo window into what’s inside. The flap on this die-cut can hold a gift card but in this case, I’ve die-cut the accompanying gift card size panel in Smooth White Card Stock and then stamped on it using the Sketched Blooms stamp set. A better peek at that is still to come.
Quick Tip: Use washi tape to hold your die in place so that it doesn’t shift while die-cutting!
So let’s talk about the outside of the card first. I’ve added in some fun diagonal and dot paper from the brand new Gray & White Basics Paper Pack, and also the new Party Patterns Paper Pack in the green leaves which are die-cut using the Shaker Flower Die-namics set. Continuing on with my mission to use each and every More Essential Sentiments Stamp Set phrase, this beautiful sentiment is very heartfelt and is stamped onto a die from the Blueprints 28 Die-namics set.
And here’s a look at what the stamped panel looks like inside the design. I’ve combined some marker coloring with stamping and used the following Dye Inks: Sno Cone, Razzleberry, Cotton Candy, Sour Apple, Spearmint.
