What does the world need? Well…it needs a lot of things but more of our favorite people is always a good start! Today’s creation is a fun card featuring a triple sentiment and a fun sketch. I’ll talk more about the sketch shortly but let’s get right to some of the fun details. The new Essentials Speech Bubbles Die-namics has really been a favorite of mine and I just can’t put it away. One speech bubble is always fun so I thought that combining all three would be even better! This little owl certainly has a LOT to say! The speech bubbles work perfectly with so many sentiments but I love pairing it up with the More Essential Sentiments set. You’ve heard me say it before but I’m slowly working my way through this amazing stamp set (and the Essential Sentiments Set too!) and have challenged myself to use ALL of the beautiful sentiments. Each of these sets has sentiments in varying lengths that fit perfectly here and pairing three up on one design is certainly helping me with my goal!
If you love to create from sketches, be sure to check out this week’s MFT Stamps sketch, #MFTWSC347. Today’s sketch is a wonderful off center sketch with a fun frame element. I’ve kept it fairly close to the original and had fun mixing up a bunch of textures and prints. The original sketch is a horizontal format and I’ve just tweaked it a little by rotating it into a vertical design. I hope you’ll join in the challenge for some creative time! You can find all the details here on the MFT Challenge Blog. If you’ve never played along, it’s super fun and easy. I hope you’ll join us!
For the main horizontal band on the sketch, I decided to bulk it up a little with three strips of patterned paper for extra flair. I’m loving the new Party Patterns Paper Pack and it’s fun color and print combo. So fun and sweet! For the frame element I decided a fun flag pennant style frame would be sweet and switched it up using the Stitched Fishtail Frames Die-namics die-cut from Sour Apple Card Stock. It’s popped up on foam squares and lined with a piece of vellum.
I can’t forget the darling little owl! It’s from the For Owl You Do stamp set and is stamped on Smooth White Card Stock and die-cut using the coordinating For Owl You Do Die-namics. Copic markers were my go-to coloring medium for this little guy and I love how sweet he is! Finally…the little leaf detail at the top left is die-cut using the Shaker Flower Die-namics.
Quick Tip: Say more with more sentiments!
I hope you find some time to get sketchy! There’s always a chance to win something fab!
Until next time…
