It’s release time at Pinkfresh Studio as they launch the new September Stamp and Die releases! I am so excited to be part of this amazing team and to celebrate the fab new products, we are having a blog hop with the Card Team and a few special guests!
This release is an amazing mix of wonderful and creative stamps and dies and we’re sharing a look at some of our favorites. I hope you’ll stop by each blog along the way to see what we have up our creative sleeves and also…there’s a giveaway that you WON’T want to miss!
First of all here’s a look at what I’ve created. I wanted to enjoy both Christmas and every day designs so I chose one of each and had a blast. I love all the sweet details on these stamp images and they are so much fun to color! I’ve chosen colored pencils for the holiday card and Copic markers for the scooter design and I loved each medium for this beautiful images.
Merry Christmas Wreath Shaker Card
My first design gets me thinking ahead to the Christmas holidays this year. I’m always shocked at how quickly they arrive after the fall season and it’s always a good idea to get ahead! This beautiful wreath comes from the Merry & Bright stamp set and I’ve also used the coordinating Merry & Bright Die Set. The center window of the wreath is designed hold one of the many sentiments in this stamp set. I’ve actually turned this window area into a shaker window by lining with with clear plastic. If you’ve never made a shaker card they are easy to do! Once you’ve lined the opening with acetate, then build up a “frame” of dimensional foam tape to box in the shaker ingredients. Fill 1/3 full with sequins or glitter or a mix and then seal the shaker shut with a piece of card stock on the back.
Quick Tip: For this card I’ve backed the shaker window area with vellum that holds the stamped sentiment. Vellum is wonderful as you can still see a peek at the background through it and it really helps with placing the stamped area easily as it is translucent.
For the stamping details on this wreath, I stamped it in black ink onto a light grey card stock. I love using mid-tones of card stock when using colored pencils as it really makes the lighter pigments pop. That sweet pink paper background? This print is from the new and gorgeous December Days line from Pinkfresh Studio.
Enjoy the Ride
Next up is this adorable little scooter that I just couldn’t wait to use! It’s called Scootin By and it is so whimsical and fun that it really caught my eye. For this card it’s paired up with it’s coordinating Scootin By Die Set and once colored int, it’s popped up with dimensional foam tape to make it pop.
Quick Tip: Use a Misti to make perfectly stamped and spaced lines to create a fun and easy background.
