A pink-a-licous Christmas? Why not?! I have to say that I’ve always been a sucker for pink and have worked it into many Christmas cards since I started created them years ago. However the new holiday product is now hitting craft stores and some of the home decor lines I’ve been seeing just make me want to run out and buy it all. I’ve seen pink in vintage lines and pink in Boho style lines and even though none of these work even remotely look good with my house style I’ve been inspired by all that pink and you’ll be seeing lots of ideas to come from all the beautiful holiday decor available. This particular card was inspired by a simple little Christmas plaque that mixed up glitter, pink, grey and white. So pretty!
The focal point of this holiday card is the sentiment. A nice big and beautiful script Merry Christmas says it all and gets right to the point! I’ve stamped this new Merry Christmas Greeting stamp in Cotton Candy Dye Ink and then have taken it up a notch by adding a little glitter embossing. On the bottom section of each letter I’ve traced the sentiment by hand with a Versamarker Watermark Pen and then embossed it with Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. It’s a very subtle look but I love how it adds a touch of shimmer to the sentiment.
Around the sentiment I’ve stamped some sweet little sprigs in Grout Gray Dye Ink. These sweet little images are a little peek at the new Dashing Deer Stamp Set. I’ve also stamped the Grout Gray Ink tone on tone on the Grout Gray Card Stock layer using the Scattered Surface Background Stamp. This is not a new background but I love how delicate it is and it’s a great way to add subtle texture without taking over the design. Oyster Gray Nuvo Drops match up the Grout Gray Ink perfectly and accent the tiny stamped sprigs.
Quick Tip: Use tiny images from different sets to embellish sentiments or backgrounds.
Remember the A2 Rectangle STAX from last release? I’m so excited to create with the brand new A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics ! They layer perfectly and if you like the stitched look (I can’t get enough of it!) then these are amazing! You can use one set for lots of layering options or double them with tiny layer increments by using both together!
Other card stock used: Pink Lemonade, Smooth White
Just before I go I can’t miss the top right area of the design. There’s a new Let it Snowflake set called Let it Snowflake Too Die-namics! It’s so lovely and delicate and there’s a trio of snowflakes in this set to mix, match and layer.
