Hi! I’m Julia Stainton. Blogger. Crafter. Wife. Mom. Freelance Designer. Lover of all things creative.
I can’t remember a time when I haven’t been making things. From drawing and art classes, playing the piano, photography, baking, needlework and stitching, my childhood was a wonderful time of creativity. I’m so thankful to my parents for putting up with the mess and to my grandmothers who inspired me to make things.
While I still dabble in all of the above, I started paper crafting in 1999 when I discovered the most beautiful scrapbook in a childrens’ clothing shop. I was hooked! As my family grew, I turned more to card making as it fit my busy schedule and I loved playing around with stamps and ink. These days I’m happily creating designs from cards to layouts, mixed media canvases to mini albums and home decor.
Since 2007 I’ve been busy working in the crafting industry as a freelance concept designer. It’s been an amazing journey of design teams, opportunities and published work. Currently I’m Design Team Coordinator for Maya Road and create for many wonderful crafting companies. I love teaching and sharing my work and I’m always open to inspiring new opportunities. Southwestern Ontario Canada is where I’m from. My Hubby and I live in a century farmhouse with three of our five children. We’re always busy renovating but love sneaking away to the beach when the weather is nice. There’s also nothing I like better than curling up with a good book!
Each day is a creative journey. I love finding joy in the ordinary quiet things of life. There is beauty in the details.
